Lines APL04 and APL11

Line APL04

Lines APL04 and APL11 are strike lines that illustrate changes in fluvial morphology. Line APL11 is approximately 17 kilometers south (downdip) of APL04. Channel dimensions change downdip from 350 meters wide and 15 meters deep to 3.5 kilometers wide and greater than 15 meters deep. Channels imaged with line APL04 suggest active channel migration. Potential late Miocene carbonates, dipping to the south/southwest, are imaged approximately 200 milliseconds down section. Above the carbonates, several generations of channels are imaged. Line APL11 illustrates the convergence of tributaries (APL04) downdip and an eastward migrating fluvial system.
