Line APL16






Line APL 16 (strike line) illustrates the superposition of the delta deposited between stage 5e and stage 2 (unit 1) and the delta deposited between stage 7 and stage 6 (unit 2). The older delta shows multiple events of delta lobe switching. Foreset angles for the two deltas imaged are similar (approximately 3°). Overlying the older delta, filling accommodation at its margin, are fringing barriers associated with the younger delta (unit 1).
