Fluvial Sheet Sands
Braided Fluvial Sheet Sands
During falling sea level, the high relief rivers and streams of the West Florida coast flow across the exposed sandy shelf and form extensive braided sheet sands, illustrated by the upper unit in these seismic lines. During transgression these fluvial sheet sands are reworked into the Mafla Sheet Sand. These seismic lines were acquired adjacent to the Mafla Sheet Sand where the fluvial sheet sands have been exposed by transgressive erosion.
