Lowstand Deltas






Lowstand deltas vary in terms of sand content. The Brazos/Trinity/Sabine lowstand delta is mud-dominated whereas the lowstand delta of the Colorado and Rio Grande rivers are sand-prone. The lowstand deltas of the west Florida rivers, including the Apalachicola River lowstand delta, are major sand bodies.
