A seismic line was collected along the axis of the Trinity/Sabine incised valley in an attempt to better image the seismic facies and bounding surfaces of the valley fill. Three discontinuous tidal delta complexes were recognized, each separated by middle bay deposits. The tidal delta complex seismic facies is characterized by northeast and southwest gently dipping (0.3 degrees) reflectors. The middle-bay seismic facies is characterized by parallel reflectors. Lithologic control within the valley is in the form of boring descriptions which are vague and scarce. Borings 4 and 8 both penetrated middle-bay and tidal delta complex seismic facies. The middle-bay deposits are clay while the tidal delta complex deposits are silty to sandy clay.
