East Texas (Brazos/Colorado)
Lowstand Systems Tract

During the last lowstand, the incised Trinity, Sabine and Brazos rivers converged on the shelf and delivered sand directly to a series of upper slope minibasins (Figure 5; Anderson et al., 1996; 1996 ISG Report). Likewise, the Colorado river delivered sediment directly to two elongate slope fans, known as the East Brake Slides. Abdulah (1995) showed that one of these fans is comprised largely of sand while the other is comprised of mud. We now believe that the sandy fan occurs down dip of that por-tion of the Colorado incised valley system that cut into the pre-existing sandy deltaic.
