Site B-146 was used for a chronostratigraphic benchmark for the central and east Texas shelf. Foraminiferal analyses were conducted under the direction of the late Dr. Martin Lagoe of the University of Texas. A good oxygen isotope curve was obtained from this site and foraminiferal indicators of paleobathymetry show reasonable correlation to the isotope curve. The highstands of stages 5 and 3 are particularly evident.
